## 2026-10-16

- Auto top-up from the API and MCP: `POST /v1/autotopup` and the `set_auto_topup` tool turn it on or off after your first purchase, and you get an email about every change. `GET /v1/credits` and `get_credits` show the status.
- Running-low and out-of-credits emails include a one-click payment link, and after a purchase the dashboard offers to turn on auto top-up.

## 2026-10-15

- `402 insufficient_credits` errors now include `checkout_url`, a ready payment link for a pack that fits your usage, also in the message, so an agent can hand it straight to you.
- Updated the [cookie policy](https://html-pdf.com/cookies) and [privacy policy](https://html-pdf.com/privacy): a new security cookie (`hp_bid`) helps prevent abuse of the free credits.
- The 100 free credits are added when you confirm your email. `POST /v1/signup` still returns an API key right away, with `credits: 0` and `pending_credits: 100`; conversions return `403 email_not_confirmed` until the owner opens the emailed link.
- A PDF with more pages than your remaining credits is no longer delivered and charged into a negative balance. You get a `402 insufficient_credits` error with the page count and your balance, and nothing is charged.

- The free converter and generators now ask for your email. The first time, you confirm it with one click and the PDF downloads right away; after that, conversions are instant. Your account comes with 100 free pages.
- Choosing an HTML file now shows a preview of it before you convert.
