Export ClickUp tasks and lists to PDF

Export ClickUp tasks and lists to PDF

ClickUp to PDF for tasks, lists and form responses. Turn your work into clean PDF reports automatically with Zapier, Make or n8n.

Quick answer. Pick a trigger, like a task being closed or a weekly schedule. Zapier, Make or n8n pulls the tasks from ClickUp, fills a template, html-pdf.com turns it into a PDF, and the PDF is emailed or saved.

What you'll build

A weekly client report listing every task finished that week. A one page summary for each closed task, with its description, assignee and dates. A PDF copy of each ClickUp Form response, since form answers arrive as tasks.

You decide the layout, so the PDF reads like a report instead of a screenshot of your workspace.

What you need

Step by step with Zapier (one PDF per task)

  1. Trigger. Create a Zap with ClickUp and its task changed or new task event. Add a Filter so it only continues when the status is Complete.
  2. Make the PDF. Add Webhooks by Zapier → Custom Request. Method POST, URL https://html-pdf.com/v1/pdf.
  3. Headers. Authorization with Bearer hp_live_... and Content-Type with application/json.
  4. Data. Paste the JSON below and map the task fields.
  5. Deliver. Add Gmail → Send Email with the url in Attachments, or Google Drive → Upload File.
{
  "html": "<h1>Launch landing page</h1><p><b>Status</b> Complete</p><p><b>Owner</b> Lena Fischer</p><p>Page live with signup form and tracking.</p>",
  "filename": "task-launch-landing-page.pdf",
  "response": "url"
}

To also attach the PDF back to the task, add ClickUp's attachment action and use the url. The link works for 24 hours. The Zapier guide covers every option.

Step by step with Make or n8n (weekly report)

  1. Schedule. Add a Schedule Trigger in n8n or set a weekly schedule in Make.
  2. Get tasks. In n8n, use the ClickUp node with Task → Get Many. In Make, use the ClickUp module that lists tasks. Filter by status or date closed.
  3. Build the table. In n8n, a Code node turns tasks into table rows. In Make, use a Text aggregator.
  4. Make the PDF. Add HTTP Request in n8n or HTTP → Make a request in Make, posting to https://html-pdf.com/v1/pdf with "landscape": true for wide tables.
  5. Deliver by email or Slack.

The n8n guide and Make guide show each setting.

Code path for developers

ClickUp's API returns the tasks in a list with one call.

const list = process.env.CLICKUP_LIST_ID;
const { tasks } = await (await fetch(
  `https://api.clickup.com/api/v2/list/${list}/task?include_closed=true`,
  { headers: { Authorization: process.env.CLICKUP_TOKEN } }
)).json();

const rows = tasks
  .map(t => `<tr><td>${t.name}</td><td>${t.status.status}</td><td>${t.assignees.map(a => a.username).join(", ")}</td></tr>`)
  .join("");
const html = `<h1>Weekly report</h1><table border="1" cellpadding="6">
<tr><th>Task</th><th>Status</th><th>Owner</th></tr>${rows}</table>`;

const r = await fetch("https://html-pdf.com/v1/pdf", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.HTML_PDF_KEY}`, "Content-Type": "application/json" },
  body: JSON.stringify({ html, landscape: true, response: "url" }),
});
console.log((await r.json()).url);

Ask your AI agent

Connect the html-pdf.com MCP server to your AI assistant. Paste your task list or let the agent read ClickUp if it is connected.

Use html-pdf to make a landscape weekly report for client Northwind. List these 12 finished tasks with owner and date closed, add a short summary at the top and our logo area in the header.

FAQ

Can I export a ClickUp Gantt or board view?

This approach exports the data, not the picture of the view. You get a clean table or list of tasks, which is often easier for clients to read.

Can I turn ClickUp Form responses into PDFs?

Yes. Each response creates a task, so use the new task trigger on the form's list and map the custom fields into your template.

Can I include subtasks and checklists?

Yes. They are available from ClickUp in the API and in most automation tools. Add them as nested lists in your template.

How much does it cost?

You get 100 free pages once. After that, packs start at $10 for 1,000 pages, and purchased credits never expire.
